Costa Coffee ringing in the festive cheer

It’s been a busy old time of late for us and one of our customers, Costa Coffee, in making sure it’s cafes were open for the festive season and ready to serve revellers and shoppers cups of the nation’s favourite coffee in London, Weston-super-Mare and Harrogate.
We recently handed over the keys of a new Costa café in Westbourne Grove, one of London’s most fashionable roads that traverses Notting Hill in the borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Jephsons was brought in to project manage the stripping out of the property that had been used for other business purposes and then set to work on the interior fit-out using fixtures, fittings and furniture manufactured in our own purpose-built workshops. The project took four weeks from beginning to end when the first cup of coffee was ready to be served.
Over on the South West coast, we completed the fit-out of another brand new Costa in the centre of Weston-super-Mare. The fitting out of the new café, which will be managed by Costa, sailed through smoothly and once again we handed a project over to the agreed time set by our client.
Much further north in Harrogate, North Yorkshire we completed an unusual project in an existing Costa café on Beulah Street. The café is right in the centre of historic Harrogate and is housed in a Victorian three storey building. The established Costa Cafe is very popular with locals and visitors to the spa town, so plans were made to extend into the basement, which supports the ground floor with heavy iron pillars that add character to the building.
So as not to disturb the client’s trade, Jephsons worked through the night to prepare and fit out the basement area. The addition of a steel circular staircase creates a feature for the lower level and the use of matt slate grey paint on it at the supporting pillars ties the whole look together.
Thanks to the expansion completed by Jephsons, the café now has double the floor space and twice as many covers so that even more people can enjoy their latte, cappuccino or flat white in comfort while taking a break from doing their Christmas shopping.> News archive
